Belgium's telecoms regulator, IBPT-BIPT, has ruled against telecom operators in the country, stating that technology giants such as Google and Microsoft should not be required to pay for 5G and broadband rollout. Telecom operators had called for "fair share funding," but the regulator believes that the need for compensation is not established.
